Healthy sweets?

Liquorice is healthy! Of course, only if you don't overdo it. But the liquorice root contains various substances that are said to have an anti-inflammatory effect and strengthen the immune system. The ingredients are also said to lower liver enzymes in chronic diseases. Did you know that the liquorice root originates from the Far East, where - as in Egypt - it has been known for its positive effects for hundreds of years?

Time for afternoon coffee?

Then we have a delicious alternative cinnamon roll recipe for you to try at home! We suggest you swap the traditional filling in your cinnamon rolls for something new - and give them a flavourful boost.

Filling for liquorice rolls (serves four) - you need

  • 200 g grated marzipan
  • 240 g butter
  • 240 g cane sugar
  • 4 tsp. liquorice powder
  1. Mix the butter, marzipan and liquorice powder. Roll out the yeast dough that you have prepared on the table into a rectangle. Place the filling on the dough - leave 1 cm of space around the edges. Roll the dough into a roulade and cut into slices (2 cm).
  2. Place the rolls on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in the same way as you would normally bake cinnamon rolls.
